The time for vikings is coming, with more details on the long-awaited second season of Vinland Saga revealing tonight that the series will start broadcasting in January 2023 alongside the first full trailer, key visual, more cast members and MAPPA producing the series.
Director Shuhei Yabuta had already confirmed that the staff from the first season of Vinland Saga, which was previously animated at WIT Studio, will be returning for the second season “with a deeper understanding of the title.” The staff will be working under MAPPA as the anime studio.
Those staff members include character designer Takahiko Abiru, script writer Hiroshi Seko, composer Yutaka Yamada, and more.

Along with new character designs for all the characters, more characters we’ll meet in the second season of Vinland Saga were revealed:
- Einar will be voiced by Shunsuke Takeuchi (Brawler in Akudama Drive)
- Arnheid will be voiced by Mayumi Sako (Rikka Sakuragawa in In/Spectre)
- Olmar will be voiced by Yu Hayashi (Mikey in Tokyo Revengers)
- Ketil will be voiced by Hideaki Tezuka (Tao Yúan in Shaman King)
- Thorgil will be voiced by Taiten Kusunoki (Leonard Burns in Fire Force)

Vinland Saga season 2 continues to adapt the original manga by Makoto Yukimura and will premiere in January 2023 on Tokyo MX and BS11.
