The announcement Tweet above also provides another stunning update to the prequel anime film’s box office numbers, which has now crossed 13.61 billion yen (US$119.92 million) domestically from 9.71 million attendees. Crunchyroll released the film internationally in March earlier this year, where the film grossed nearly US$30 million in North America alone.
Megumi Ogata, who voiced the film’s protagonist, commented that she looked forward to seeing everyone as Yuta Okkotsu again, most likely referring to the upcoming second season of the JUJUTSU KAISEN series that is due out sometime in 2023.
