UPDATE 4/29/22: Added Kametz’ GoFundMe campaign link. 

Voice actor Billy Kametz (Naofumi in The Rising of the Shield Hero, Josuke in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable) shared a video on his YouTube channel today to provide a health update. According to his announcement, he was recently diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer, and is undergoing treatment while taking a break from his work.

Kametz explains how it started in the video below. About 10 weeks ago he had pain in one of his shoulder blades that spread elsewhere. After eventually heading to the emergency room and getting a CAT scan, the actor received a formal diagnosis and started treatment. According to his video, chemotherapy and radiation therapy treatments are going well, and he’ll continue fighting as he returns to Pennsylvania to be with his family.

Kametz emphasizes the importance of his fans supporting anyone who may replace him in one of his roles moving forward. He wants everyone to cheer them on and is grateful that they’re continuing his work while he focuses on treatment.

On April 28, A Jinnie McManus and Kametz started a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for treatment.
