Details about Hideaki Anno’s latest tokusatsu reboot project, Shin Ultraman, continue to drip out ahead of next month’s premiere, and the latest casting announcement brings the world of anime even closer to it.

 

Renowned voice actor Kenjiro Tsuda, who you may know as Overhaul in My Hero Academia, Nanami in JUJUTSU KAISEN, Kaiba in Yu-Gi-Oh! and more, will be lending his iconic voice to Gaseijin kaiju Zarab in the upcoming film.

 

 

His character, as shown in the image above, made a short appearance in the most recent teaser trailer.

A reimagining of 1966’s Ultraman television series, Shin Ultraman is directed by Shinji Higuchi (Shin Godzilla) and written/produced by Hideaki Anno (Neon Genesis Evangelion). The film is currently scheduled to release in Japanese theaters on May 13, 2022.
