Toei Animation and Manga Productions have announced the North American premiere for Shizuno Kobun’s film The Journey, which will take place Tuesday, April 12 at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California. The Journey will stream on Crunchyroll in the spring.
Manga Productions describes The Journey as follows:
An invading army threatens to destroy Mecca and enslave its peaceful inhabitants. Aws, a seemingly simple potter, is one of the few ready to stand up against the massive invading army to defend their home. But when he discovers a long-lost friend he believed to be dead, his dark past is revealed.

The film was originally directed by Shizuno Kubo (Godzilla, Case Closed), with script by Atsuhiro Tomioka (Pokemon, Fairy Tail), character designs by Tatsuro Iwamoto (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney), and score composed by Kaoru Wada (Inuyasha, D. Gray-man).
Previously released in Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regions as well as Japan, the English dub will feature Chris Judge (Stargate SG-1, God of War), Johnny Yong Bosch (Bleach, Demon Slayer, Black Clover), Jennie Kwan (High-Rise Invasion, Avatar: The Last Airbender), Bryce Papenbrook (Attack on Titan, Seven Deadly Sins, Sword Art Online), Alejandro Saab (7Seeds, My Hero Academia), Christopher Sabat (Dragon Ball Z, Black Clover, My Hero Academia), Steve Blum (Cowboy Bebop, Star Wars: Rebels, Wolverine and the X-Men), Hesham Elshazly (Between the Stars), Cedric Williams (Hunter x Hunter, The Promised Neverland), and Hussein Mohammed (Spider-Man: Vengeance).
