After staying in top 10 for the long 15 consecutive weeks since its release, JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 finally dropped out of the top 10 of the Japanese weekend box office in its 16th weekend.

The 105-minute film was released in Japan on December 24, 2021 and stayed at the No.1 spot for six straight weeks (eight times in total) until Doraemon: Nobita’s Little Star Wars 2021, the 41st feature film in the Doraemon anime franchise, made its No.1 debut in the weekend of March 5-6. The film’s total domestic gross has reached 13.4 billion yen (106.78 million USD) on 9.56 million admissions, surpassing the Japanese domestic gross of Frozen 2 (13.37 billion yen), becoming the 18th top-grossing film of all-time in Japan.

Doraemon: Nobita’s Little Star Wars 2021 had stayed at the same third place for three consecutive weekends. By its sixth weekend, the film had earned 2.3 billion yen (18.33 million USD) on two million admissions, which was about 68.6 percent of the total domestic gross of the previous 40th film Doraemon: Nobita’s New Dinosaur in 2020.

The live-action film adaptation of the Osomatsu-san / Mr. Osomatsu anime series starring the nine members of Johnny & Associates’ male idol group Snow Man dropped to fourth place in its third weekend.

Cherimaho The Movie: Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!, a live-action feature film adaptation of Yuu Toyota’s boys love manga, made its sixth place debut. It follows the manga’s 12-episode TV drama adaptation that was aired in Japan in 2020. The film ranked third in Filmarks’ first day satisfaction ranking with an average rating of 4.04/5.0 based on 463 reviews.
