More idol fun is on the way for THE [email protected] series, this time in the form of a TV anime adaptation of Kyow No’s THE [email protected] CINDERELLA GIRLS U149 spinoff manga. Cygames Pictures is in charge of animation production, and you can see the announcement that was made during the final concert of the CINDERELLA GIRLS 10th anniversary tour below.

The U149 in the title refers to the aspiring idols at the center of it all, who stand at under 149 centimeters tall. Together with the help of their similarly squat rookie producer, these idols aim to make it to the top! As the announcement card puts it, “This story is about growth of little idols and their little producer.”
The manga is serialized weekly via Cycomics, and volumes 9 and 10 are set to launch in Japan on April 8. Here’s the cover of volume 8:
