This spring, Yuugo Kobayashi‘s Aoashi jumps from the manga page to the NHK. The manga, about an aspiring soccer player attenting a prestigious academy, is getting the Production I.G treament — and today, we get to see the first action-packed PV.
The PV shows protagonist Ashito Aoi (CV Kouki Oosuzu) setting off on his journey to become a soccer pro:
The new video also gives us a taste of the series’s OP: “Mushin Hakusū,” performed by [Alexandros]. Songs by the four-member rock band have also shown up in the live-action film adaptation of Bleach and the Japanese dub of Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The ending theme, “Blue Diary,” will be performed by Rinne.
Four new cast members have also been announced, along with their character names and designs: Mie Sonozaki (Viola in One Piece) as Ashito’s mother Noriko, Yoshiki Nakajima (Yoshifumi Nitta in Hinamatsuri) as his brother Shun, Mikako Komatsu (Maki Zenin in JUJUTSU KAISEN) as soccer journalist Aoi Kaneko, and Kazuyuki Okitsu (Karim Fulham in Fire Force) as Esperion FC forward Kenta Yoshitsune.
