Fans of the Date A Live TV anime have been waiting for a while for the next season, and now that wait is over, with the series announcing today that the fourth season, under the title DATE A LIVE IV, will start on April 8 on Japanese TV. An epic new key visual was released to coincide with the news featuring all the spirits flying above the earth.
Jun Nakagawa returns to the series at GEEKTOYS after directing the Date A Bullet anime films, with Naoto Nakamura also returning as the character designer, and Go Sakabe as the music composer, who also did the music for the first three anime seasons. Fumihiko Shimo (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid) is writing the series composition. The cast from the first three seasons returns for DATE A LIVE IV.
Three seasons of the Date A Live TV anime have been broadcast so far, with all the seasons currently streaming on Crunchyroll. The streamer describes the series as such:
Ordinary high school boy Shido discovers a mysterious girl at ground zero of a recent spacequake. Shido learns, through his sister Kotori, that the girl is one of the Spirits: mystical creatures responsible for the spacequakes. Shido is recruited to help “seal” the sprits and end their threat to mankind. There’s just one catch: the only way to seal a spirit—is to make her fall in love with you.
DATE A LIVE IV starts on Japanese TV on April 8 at 10 PM.
