KADOKAWA has announced the launch of its new project label “TUNKU,” specializing in BL (Boys’ Love) drama series. KADOKAWA has published a variety of popular BL manga and novels over the years, and the purpose of the new label is to bring BL works to the world as live-action drama as well.


As its commemorative first entry, a live-action drama adaptation of Gamoko Tsuyu’s romantic BL comedy manga Fukoukun wa Kiss Surushikanai! (Mr. Unhappy has no choice but to kiss!) will start airing MBS’ new one-year limited drama slot “Drama Shower” on April 21, 2022. It will be also broadcast sequentially on TV Kanagawa, Chiba TV, TV Saitama, Tochigi TV, and Gunma TV. 24-year-old Ryosuke Sota and 25-yesr-old Yusuke Sato (lol member) will play a BL couple.


The manga was originally serialized on the free-to-read web comic magazine B-Boy P! from September 2019 to May 2020 and attracted a total of 2.5 million page views. The long-awaited serialization is set to resume in April to coincide with the drama, and the second volume will be released on May 19.


The story begins when Kouta Fukuhara, a boy has a constitution that tend to get unhappy, and Naoya Shinomiya, a boy who has a constitution that tend to get happy, meet by chance in the new semester of college. Kouta realizes that his unhappiness is reduced only when he is with Naoya, and he approaches Naoya to take advantage of his good luck, but a misunderstanding leads to the two of them becoming a couple!
