Ahead of the Aoashi TV anime blowing its starting whistle for the film’s April 9 premiere, the official Twitter account for the anime based on the manga by Yugo Kobayashi, revealed five more characters that will be added to the starting line-up, including the character’s voice actors and their setting designs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Joining the cast will be:

 

Hiroki Yasumoto (Yasutora Sado in Bleach) as Nozomi Date

Reina Ueda (Shiori Shinomiya in Sakura Quest) as Anri Kaidou

Kensho Ono (Tetsuya Kuroko in Kuroko’s Basketball) as Taira Nakamura

Koki Uchiyama (Tomura Shigaraki in My Hero Academia) as Youichi Kiriki

Makoto Furukawa (Miyuki Shirogane in KAGUYA-SAMA: LOVE IS WAR) as Eita Takasugi

The Aoashi manga focuses on the theme of J-League’s youth soccer teams and is penned by Yugo Kobayashi. It has been running in Big Comic Spirits magazine since 2015, winning the 65th Shogakukan Manga Awards in the General category.

 

Aoashi is being produced at Production I.G with Akira Sato (RELEASE THE SPYCE) directing and is set to begin on April 9 in Japan with Crunchyroll streaming the series soon after its Japanese broadcast.
